I love to make breakfast for dinner. I’ve been trying for years to perfect a sausage recipe, and a couple weeks ago, Hubba said I did just that. I think part of the problem was that I was using ground beef, which is perfectly acceptable (as is any other ground meat), but pork really seems to be the best. We did like the ground venison, too, but the pork was still the winner!
1 pound ground meat (pork preferably, but any ground meat should do, or a mix)
1/2 tsp each: sage, marjoram, thyme, onion powder, fennel seed
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp white pepper
1/4 cup whey (optional, or you can use stock or water)
In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients. Make sure the spices are incorporated well.
At this point, you can cook it as loose meat or form into patties. Fry until cooked through.
