Hi, there & welcome to Vicariously Vintage! My name is Michaela. I’m a 30-something Wife of 1 Husband & Mum of 3 boys. Those boys are ages tween to teen, with one having moved out early in ’15. We have been homeschooling for over a decade now.
We are transplants to everywhere. As a family of 5, we’ve made our home in various parts of GA, Wyoming & Tennessee & are currently making our home in W TN. I’m fairly accustomed to the nomadic lifestyle, as my Daddy was in the Air Force. While we didn’t move in the military NEAR as much as most families do, I called a few places home. Those places included- 2 locations in England (one of which is where I was born), Florida, South Carolina and Nebraska.
I enjoy all things vintage & primitive- aprons, polka dots, raising chickens & rabbits, sewing, gardening, canning, raising my little boys (even though, they’re not all that little anymore), crafting, raising a Husband (hehe), cooking, baking, sometimes cleaning and many other things. In January of 2009, we transitioned to a whole/traditional way of eating, and our health is so much better for that. We are not 100% whole foods/natural living, though, and some days you’ll see posts about my imperfect kitchen & cleaning caddy 😉
This blog will present many recipes, crafty ideas & remodeling ideas. Occasionally you’ll notice kid-isms interspersed, as my kids say & do the “darndest things” sometimes. We also raise some of our own food, so you’ll see some homestead-y sorta of stuff as well. It’s really a hodge podge of our lives. I hope by the time you close out this window you are inspired. If you came to learn, I hope you walk away refreshed in energy & spirit, knowing something you didn’t before.
